Program Evaluation & Survey Design Services
Leonard Research & Evaluation offers two complementary core services:
Program Evaluation & Survey Design

Through program evaluation, we can explore how – and how well – your program works to make change. Program evaluation can help you understand and talk about your program’s impact on the people, communities, issues and systems that you care about. Working together might look like developing or updating your program’s theory of change or logic model, creating or refining measurement plans and tools, collecting new information from participants or supporters, or helping you use and build on the information you already have to make improvements and understand your impact.

My survey design offerings can be tailored to meet your needs. I can provide coaching to support your own survey design, implementation and use, or I can design a custom survey for you from scratch, administer it, do a complete analysis of results, and support their use. Or something in between!
How I Work
My clients are typically foundations, nonprofits and fellow evaluators who are trying to answer questions about their work.
Questions like: “Is our new program working as intended?” “Are we reaching the people we want to serve?” “What do participants experience in our program?” “What impact is our program having on the community we serve?”
I work collaboratively with each client to identify the right questions to ask and the best tools to use to meet their information needs. When working with me you can expect a human-centered, customized approach, and to celebrate your progress along the way.

What Clients Say
The Oregon Child Care Alliance is a shared services alliance, pooling resources and supporting child care providers to strengthen and sustain their businesses through coaching, training, and administrative resources.
The Alliance evaluation, which is ongoing, first launched in 2021 via a partnership between Leonard Research & Evaluation and AB Cultural Drivers.
The evaluation aims to advance equity for child care providers and the families they serve by supporting learning and improvement related to implementation of the Alliance model.
The evaluation also seeks to understand the Alliance’s impact on participating child care businesses and the broader child care ecosystem.
